Georgia Pre-K

Georgia Pre-K is a free, state-funded Pre-K program that helps children grow and prepare for success in Kindergarten. At Open Arms we find great joy in exceeding the standards for the Georgia Pre-K program and providing enriching learning experiences for all children.

Open Arms’ Pre-K program utilizes the Creative Curriculum® resource, a comprehensive, research-based curriculum that features exploration and discovery as the way of learning. Teachers are enabled to provide a high-quality learning environment and hands-on, project-based investigations that help build children’s confidence, creativity, and critical thinking skills. Children will experience consistent daily routines while teachers make the most of every “teachable moment” throughout the school day.

Teachers use the Ticks and Tots app to post regular, consistent updates, photos and activities of the children each day.

The Georgia Pre-K program consists of a 6.5-hour instructional day, 5 days a week, 180 days a year. Open Arms also offers before and after school care as needed. The Pre-K program is free to all four-year-old children (on or before September 1 of the upcoming or current school year), regardless of parental income. The following items are required by the state in order to register your child:

  • Child’s Social Security Card
  • Child’s proof of age (birth certificate, passport, hospital record of live birth)
  • Proof of Georgia residency (utility bill, rental/mortgage statement)
  • Completed Bright from the Start enrollment form
  • Forms required before school begins:
